Becker, Nikolaus (1809-1845),
court scribe in Geilenkirchen. In 1840, influenced by the German-French tensions, he wrote the poem: Sie sollen ihn nicht haben, den freien deutschen Rhein (They shall not have it, the free German Rhine).
