Austrian diplomat and politician. Started his diplomatic career in St Petersburg, Paris, and the foreign ministry in Vienna; envoy extraordinary and minister plenipotentiary at Hamburg (1860–1863) and Munich (1863-1866); member of the upper house of the Reichsrat (from 1867).
