Blum, Robert
(1807-1848),
oppositional politician and publicist. From the late 1830s, the leading member of the democratic movement in Saxony and Germany; vice-president of the Frankfurt Pre-Parliament (1848) and spokesman for the left in the Frankfurt National Assembly. In October 1848, he took part in the Vienna uprising; executed for high treason in November 1848.
